Following further investigation and testing, KFL&A Public Health has determined that the general school population at Odessa Public School is not at risk because of a COVID-19 exposure identified on March 27, 2021.
Odessa PS students who ride Bus 158 and their household members, must continue to isolate and follow the direction of KFL&A Public Health.
All other students and staff of Odessa Public School may return to school on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
All students and staff at Odessa PS were originally asked to self-isolate given a contact of a positive case of COVID-19 had been identified in the school.
Because COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOC) are now in our community and can spread more easily, Public Health is taking additional precautions to help reduce spread.
KFL&A Public Health and the school board are taking all necessary steps to prevent spread of the virus both in the school and the community. Everyone should continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and screen students daily as most cases of COVID-19 are acquired in the home setting.
Thank you for your understanding and adherence to all public health directives to help ensure student and staff safety.
