Update!

Happy Sunday, Tiger Families!

On behalf of our Odessa staff, I would like to express our sincere wish that you had a safe and relaxing break with your family.  We look forward to seeing everyone in person as soon as it is safe to do so but, until then, please refer to the Odessa PS and Limestone District School Board websites for information pertaining to remote learning.

While we deployed some devices to those who require them previous to the break (mostly to those in Grades 4 and above), we will continue that work tomorrow for our remaining classes.  Please don't hesitate to contact the school or your child's teacher should you require assistance and to arrange to pick up a device.

Our staff will be engaged in a staff meeting early in the day tomorrow, following which staff will begin to reach out to students/families.  Learning may start tomorrow with asynchronous activities, with synchronous learning beginning on Tuesday and increasing as the week progresses and device deployment is completed.  Each teacher will communicate their schedule to you.

While we have all experienced remote learning by this point, we recognize that this pivot back to remote learning may be difficult for some.  Please be patient with yourself and with your child and don't hesitate to reach out for assistance, when needed.

During our last experience with remote learning, there were many questions regarding how school attendance was taken.  If you are aware that your child will not be participating in learning for the day, please call in the absence through the automated Safe Arrival system, as you have previously done.  Teachers will be recording attendance one hour prior to the end of the school day.  If there has been no evidence that your child has participated in learning, synchronously or asynchronously, in the 24 hours prior, they will be recorded as absent and automated wellness calls will be sent out.

Please take care and be safe!

Thanks!
Mr. Seymour
