It’s hard to believe that we are approaching December! Every year at this time, we turn our thoughts to those who might be struggling and try to think of the ways that we can support. While this year is different in some of the ways we can support, it is still true that there is need in our broader community. In the weeks leading up to the holidays, we will have a few fundraising opportunities that you and your children have the opportunity to participate in.
Our first fundraiser was initiated by an Odessa student and we think it’s a wonderful idea! Today, in our virtual assembly, we shared a video with our students about the good work happening at the Kingston Youth Shelter (KYS). The KYS strives to provide a supportive, stable environment, and the tools and life skills to help youth emerge from their immediate or ongoing housing crisis. Next week, we will be asking students to bring monetary donations of any size to school in support of the KYS. Donations of $20 or higher will receive a tax receipt. Donations (either monetary or of items which can be purchased through their Amazon page) can also be made directly to KYS by going to this link: https://kingstonyouthshelter.com/donate/
